EO Connecticut exists because business owners need other business owners.
We are a selective nonprofit community of Connecticut founders and entrepreneurs who come together to learn, share experiences and build relationships with people who understand what it means to carry the responsibility of owning a company.
Some of those relationships will make you a better business owner.
Some may change the direction of your company.
And some may become friendships you keep for the rest of your life.
EO CT Is Not Another Networking Group
EO Connecticut is not built around collecting business cards or generating sales leads.
There is no requirement that you generate leads for the person sitting next to you.
You are not joining because you need another room of people to pitch.
You are joining a non-profit organization that is a community of business owners who have already built something substantial and still believe they have more to learn. EO Connecticut was founded in 1998 as part of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization, a global nonprofit community built by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. Today, EO connects roughly 20,000 entrepreneurs through more than 220 chapters around the world.
The Connecticut chapter brings that community to Connecticut. You can build relationships with entrepreneurs here in Connecticut while gaining access to a network that extends around the world.
Your Own Confidential Forum of Business Owners
At the center of the EO experience is Forum.
Forum brings a small group of fellow business owners together every month in a structured, confidential environment. EO describes Forum as its highest rated member benefit and structures it around members sharing their own experiences rather than simply telling one another what to do.
Think of it as something between a personal board of advisors and a group of people who actually understand your life.
Business is part of the conversation, but it is not the only part. Because the person making decisions for a company is still a person. Leadership, family, relationships and personal goals do not conveniently stay separated from business ownership. Forum creates a place where those conversations can happen with people who understand both sides of that reality.
EO Connecticut Is Selective
for a Reason
The value of this community depends on the people in it. That means meeting the financial qualifications for EO membership does not automatically mean someone is the right fit for EO Connecticut.
When you request to be considered, we begin by confirming that you meet the basic EO membership requirements. For most applicants, that means being the founder, owner or controlling shareholder of a qualifying company with at least $1 million in annual revenue. Different criteria apply to some venture backed businesses.
But qualification is only the beginning. We also want to know who you are. An existing member of EO Connecticut will connect with you during the process. This is an opportunity to talk about your business, what you are looking for and what being part of EO Connecticut actually means.
It is not just about determining whether you are right for EO Connecticut.
It is also about determining whether EO Connecticut is right for you.
